Americorps service member and Upper Merced River Watershed Council program coordinator Gigi Knowlton grabs a water sample as part of a 20-year history of monitoring along the Merced River.
What’s up with water quality?
Whether you swim, float, picnic, or cast a rod along the Merced River, you know that water quality is vital for river health and its communities of life.
For two decades, the Upper Merced River Watershed Council has worked in partnership with the National Park Service to monitor water quality in the Merced Wild and Scenic River.
Come learn about this work, the volunteer citizen science program, what’s new with water quality, and what it tells us about the river our community loves.
Join National Park Service lead physical science technician along with the Watershed Council’s Kristina Rylands and Gigi Knowlton as they share new water quality discoveries and what it means for the watershed.
